What you will do:
Analyze product delivery or supply chain processes to identify and recommend changes.
Reorganize shipping schedules to consolidate loads, maximize vehicle usage, or limit the movement of empty vehicles or containers.
Manage rout activities such as invoicing, electronic bills, and shipment tracing.
Develop and maintain cost estimates, forecasts, and cost models.
Manage ad-hoc queries and maintain reports.
Conduct analysis and create reports of weekly and monthly KPIs, such as on-time delivery rates, order-fulfillment rates, inventory turns, etc.
Audit transportation accessorial charges by carrier and customer.
Correct freight settlement documents to ensure the proper accruing of freight on a daily basis.
Estimate distribution costs for new business opportunities, such as indirect/direct freight, distribution center costs, etc.
What it takes:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related field.
Two or more years of experience in transportation, logistics, or customer service Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Think creatively to solve problems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail.
Customer focused.
Resilient in stressful situations.
The Logistics Specialist will report to the Director of Supply Chain.
